Here are a few tips on making the right choices when buying domain names:

Keep it short and simple. Its easier to remember and quicker to type !

Choose a name that reflects you and your brand and avoid names that are simmilar to existing ones. Try to avoid hyphens and don't use ambiguous or complex spellings.

Remember, domain names can only contain letters, numbers, and dashes. Spaces and symbols are not allowed.

If you are buying a .co.uk domain name (e.g. yoursite.co.uk), consider buying the other main TLD's (Top Level Domains) for the same prefix (e.g. yoursite.com, yoursite.net). You will have more control over your name and no one else can copy you !
